Couples counselling — face to face in Beeston
Find your way back to each other
Relationships are complicated — every single one. Whatever the two of you are carrying right now, talking it through with someone skilled and neutral can make all the difference.
Why come now
Early help beats built-up resentment
Most couples wait far too long before asking for help. Small hurts get repeated, the silences grow longer, and resentment quietly builds. Coming in early — while you're still talking — makes counselling gentler and quicker.
And if things have already reached breaking point? It's still not too late. You'll sit down together in one of our comfortable rooms in Beeston — couples counselling is always face-to-face, as it works best with everyone in the same room. Your counsellor is there for the relationship — not to take sides, and never to judge either of you.
What couples bring
No situation is too big — or too trivial
If it matters to you, it matters. These are some of the things couples talk to us about:
- Communication and conflict — the same argument on repeat, or barely talking at all
- Step-families and the strains of blended-family life
- Affairs and the slow work of rebuilding trust
- Pornography and its effect on your relationship
- Remarriage — the hopes and worries of starting again
- Separation questions — wondering whether to stay together or part well
- Depression or anxiety putting pressure on you both
- Past trauma surfacing in the relationship
And if what's troubling you isn't on that list, bring it anyway. Nothing you say will shock us.
What to expect
What happens in a couples session
No lying on couches, no blame games. Just a calm hour with someone whose job is to help you hear each other again.
- You start with a 60-minute assessment. A relaxed conversation with a trained assessor about what's going on and what you'd both like to change. Then we match you with the counsellor best suited to you.
- Sessions are weekly, 50 minutes to an hour. You attend together, in person at the centre — couples sessions aren't offered online.
- Both of you get heard. Your counsellor holds the space so each of you can speak honestly — and actually be listened to. They stay neutral throughout.
- Everything is confidential. Our counsellors are members of professional bodies such as BACP, UKCP and ACC, and are DBS-checked. What you share stays in the room.
- You set the pace. Some couples come for a handful of sessions; others stay longer. There's no fixed script — it's shaped around you.
